Can buying new clothes start with boredom?
If you're like me, your closet is already stuffed with a lot of good clothes. There are some things we wear regularly for our job, maybe some uniforms, some things we wear for special activities and a lot for formal and informal occasions and, of course, there are those classics that never go out of style.
So, what on Earth would cause us to want to go out and buy more clothes? Some things suffer from wear and tear, of course, and have to be replaced. And there are those special item that we "absolutely need" for a special occasion. But, let's face it, that's not what motivates most of our clothes shopping.
More likely, we just go shopping because it's an entertaining and pleasant thing to do when we're bored. It's called "recreational shopping." It can be an expensive pastime. But then so is golf and skydiving.
