Men and clothing swaps just don't go together. Or, does it?
I had a good friend ask me why I haven't done a clothing swap for men. My answer is, according to my extensive research, they just aren't that interested. OK, my research was pretty much limited to simply asking men from work, at stores and anywhere else I could find a man.
I’d first explain what a clothing swap was and then ask if they’d be interested in participating. A few said “yes” (even they might have been lying just to be polite) but most answered “no.” And, even if the handful that said they’d be interested, would they actually show up? It wouldn’t balance out the time and cost of organizing a men-only swap.
This, of course, doesn't mean it can’t be done. We know churches and other community organizations do clothing swaps that include men’s clothes, along with women’s and children’s clothes, all the time. And, heck, even if men don’t actually show up, wives and girlfriends probably do most of their clothes shopping anyway.
It’s also worth noting that the charities we work with always need good men’s clothing and would be happy to take any leftovers off our hands. Saving money is universal, after all.
So, why not give it a try? Maybe later this year? What do you think? Leave a comment below.

I would bring my husband's clothing.
